United States procurement review

Leather Perforation Equipment for US Engineering Buyers

Build a reviewable technical package for automotive seat-cover perforation: controlled drawings, representative samples, tooling evidence and acceptance criteria.

DC-PUNCH supplies leather perforation machinery from Dongguan, China. This page is for US purchasing and engineering teams evaluating equipment for seat-cover panels and related upholstery production, including projects where engineering approval and the receiving factory are in different locations.

The United States includes automotive seating development activity: Adient's FY2025 annual report identifies Plymouth, USA, among its development centers. That is market context, not a statement that Adient uses DC-PUNCH equipment. The procurement approach below focuses on making the machine decision traceable to the buyer's own part requirements.

Supply location: Dongguan, China. DC-PUNCH has no US office, showroom or visiting service team. Define any remote review, documentation and support scope in the commercial agreement.

Resolve inch/mm and drawing-control questions first

Identify the drawing's controlling unit system before discussing hole sizes or tolerances. If your engineering package uses inches and the machine proposal uses millimetres, agree who approves the conversion and which dimensions remain authoritative. Keep the tolerance, not just the nominal dimension, attached to each converted value.

Provide the revision identifier, panel outline, datums, hole centers, pitch, seam allowances and unperforated zones. State how left- and right-hand panels are identified and whether any pattern is mirrored. A screenshot can illustrate the design, but the supplier also needs a file suitable for reviewing the actual geometry.

Compare tooling against the production mix

For programmed patterns, investigate the DC-A1500-2 CNC leather perforating machine. Review available punches, pattern preparation and panel location with the proposed material. For a repeated full-plate pattern, assess the DC-6595-2-500PT and ask how tooling changes are controlled.

If the process starts with compatible roll material, review the DC-JL1600 roll-fed machine. Its roll feeding and modular die tooling address different parts of the workflow. Discuss registration to downstream cutting as well as the punching pattern itself.

Record initial tooling, replacement tooling, fixtures and software options separately. Use the selection guide to compare complete job cycles and accepted output without treating strokes, holes and finished panels as interchangeable measures.

Turn a demonstration into sample evidence

Submit the actual leather or synthetic construction, including the finish and backing that will pass through the machine. Identify the range of thickness and stretch your purchasing specification permits. Choose a representative pattern and a demanding pattern rather than relying on a single short demonstration.

Agree how hole size, spacing, edge appearance and pattern registration will be checked. Review material marking, incomplete holes and retained waste on both faces. If the component will be sewn, laminated or assembled afterward, include that downstream review in your acceptance plan. The seat-cover application page provides a fuller checklist.

Prepare a remote acceptance review

If you and the supplier agree to a remote review, define the evidence before the session. A recording of a machine running should be accompanied by the configuration and inspection records needed to interpret the result.

  1. Confirm the machine, tooling and software configuration being demonstrated.
  2. Identify the material batch and the approved drawing revision on camera and in the record.
  3. Show loading, processing, unloading and inspection as a complete sequence.
  4. Record accepted and rejected samples separately, with the measurement method used.
  5. Include a pattern change or restart if it is part of the agreed evaluation.
  6. Close open findings in writing and identify which samples will be retained or sent to the buyer.

Set the review time zone and name the people authorized to accept results. Agree separately on shipment release and the checks your team will perform after arrival.

Include the receiving facility in purchasing approval

Your US factory team should identify its equipment documentation, electrical, safety and installation requirements before purchase. Provide the actual utilities and layout constraints, and confirm responsibility for unloading, positioning and connection. Request the available machine documentation for review; required third-party assessments or modifications need separate confirmation.

Ask for an itemised quotation covering the machine, tooling, options, spare parts, packing and agreed delivery point. Have your logistics adviser assess destination charges and shipment documentation. Confirm the available remote support arrangements and parts supply scope instead of assuming local field service.

Send a US engineering enquiry

Contact DC-PUNCH with your drawing revision and units, material construction, target accepted output, receiving location and proposed acceptance checklist. Include any unresolved tooling or process question so the quotation review can address it explicitly.
